Economic Performance of China's Paper Industry in 2025

1. Production From January to December 2025, China's total production of machine-made paper and paperboard reached 164.05 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.9%. Guangdong Province produced 23.85 million tons (down 9.9%), accounting for 14.5% of the national total and ranking second in the country.

2. Operating Revenue During the same period, the national operating revenue for the industry totaled 1,418.67 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.6% compared to the previous year. Guangdong Province's revenue was 239.72 billion yuan, down 7%, representing 16.9% of the national total.

3. Total Profits The accumulated profits for the national paper industry were 44.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year decline of 13.6%. In Guangdong, total profits fell significantly by 35.7% to 3.37 billion yuan, making up 7.6% of the national total.

4. Other Economic Indicators In Guangdong Province, the added value of the paper industry decreased by 4.9% year-on-year. The total sales value for the province reached 234.8 billion yuan, a decline of 7.1% compared to 2024.
